About
awaitphotography (Amy Wait) | UK Creative Studio Photographer

Amy Wait

I’m a creative studio photographer who predominantly focuses on product and portrait photography, often favouring a darker style, as I think there's a simplicity and beauty found in darkness.

My commercial work has varied in subject matters therefore producing differing final images, my commissions have included photographing portraits, events, artworks and products, primarily focusing on studio photography, where I regularly create staged scenes using prop and set design, often hand-making them to create the desired outcomes.

With my personal photography I use creative, abstract, and sometimes humorous ways to visualise and express internal experiences and emotions that are often seen as taboo but should be normalised as they are experienced by many. I have explored subjects ranging from depression, anxiety, misogyny, stereotypes in addition to more themes.

I obtained a BA (Hons) Degree in Photography at the University of the West of England. I exhibited my project 'Barely Alive' both at the Arnolfini gallery in Bristol and the Copeland Gallery in Peckham, London in June 2023. My work has also been printed in digital products, used for promotion and published in magazines, such as Bath Life Magazine.
